Where can a person go to be safe during the 2012 crossing ?
That’s a very good question and it should be addressed. I have seen some so-called “future maps” of the world online, but frankly, I’d be very suspicious of any of them. Nobody really knows, that’s why. But, we CAN use our common sense and a bit of knowledge. Do research on locations and regions that you could move to soon, if possible, or in an emergency. There are stable land masses that have good food, shelter, water, and transportation facilities.
Stay away from low areas, near beaches and large bodies of water. Any of a number of scenarios of events could cause flooding and devastation.
Stay away from well-known earthquake fault lines with a history of destruction ( west coast USA ). That should be obvious, but it isn’t, apparently.
DO live where there is fresh water available in the form of vigorous streams and lakes.
Do live a little higher up, such as 500 feet above sea level, and inland at least 10 miles.
Live near at least one major transportation route, 2 or more is better. If massive evacuation ever becomes necessary, every road will be used.
Living on the side of a steep hill is not a good idea.
Don’t live too high up in mountains. It will be very cold there, and fewer people to work with. You can always go higher if you need to later, but what if you need to go down to be warmer? Transportation is much more difficult in high mountains.
Live near areas where there are known caves ( big ones ), or other underground shelters. They could come in handy, if not for living, for storage. medical shelter, underground water, etc.
Live near nice people. Some communities work better together than others.

Recommended locations.
NOTE: These recommendations are my personal opinion, based on places I have personally been to, or heard about, or researched. Obviously, it is a very small list so I have limited knowledge. They are listed in no particular order, and are accompanied by comments / reasons.
USA
East:
Pennsylvania – it has a lot of state parks with dirt roads, rivers, lakes, wildlife. Climate is modest, with plenty of good agriculture. In addition, there are many great caves among the hills. Terrain rises up to around 4,000 feet or so maximum. Lots of roads and small airports.
Appalachian mountains - cover a number of states. Lots of wildlife, good elevation and views. Valleys have great agriculture. Lots of horses and cattle. Hills are generally far inland and should be okay. Climate is quite temperate because of latitude. Plenty of streams. Numerous roads and airports.
Central
Ohio, other midwest states. Many cities are on fairly high plateaus, hundreds of feet above sea level. There are some modest hills and good agriculture, quite a bit of wildlife. Good rivers, lots of lakes. Transportation is good, lots of boats, roads, vehicles.
Western
Rocky Mountains. — there are probably a lot of great places in the USA western mountains, but I would avoid high altitudes and steep slopes. Weather in high mountains can be very unpredictable, and transportation difficult.
